The setting of the house makes it the perfect holiday spot for those wanting both the idyllic tranquility of rural Brittany together with the option of getting out and about cycling, walking or visiting nearby towns and beaches. The village of Treal with its restaurant, bars, church, village shop (fresh baguettes etc) is just a one minute flat walk from La Maison Bleue
Bleue itself, is the last but one house in the village. The nearest large towns are Ruffiac, Ploermel and mediaeval Malestroit, about ten minutes away. Here you will find banks, supermarkets and restaurants in abundance. For more info see the Local Towns link on the Things to Do page which has a selection of all the best Brittany towns
The Ground Floor
The house has a large lounge/ dining room designed around an impressive Breton fireplace. The floor is newly tiled and traditional oak joists support the ceiling. Two large comfy leather settees make up the lounge area and surround the widescreen TV which receives all the usual British -and French on request- Freeview channels including BBC and ITV plus radio etc. To one side of the room are the dining table and chairs
The adjacent room on the ground floor is the spacious, fully fitted kitchen with an impressive double height sloping ceiling which allows extra light to pour in from a third window on the first floor. There is a huge specially commissioned painting up above the cooker and the modern centre lights create a fantastic ambience in the room in the evenings. The kitchen includes a gas cooker / oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and washing machine. There's plenty of work surfaces and we are certain that it has there is everything you will need for your holiday eating
The First Floor
The stairs lead up from the kitchen to the hall which in turn opens out into the two bedrooms. Bedroom one has a double bed, wardrobe, shelving, chest of drawers -most of this is out of shot on the below photo. The second bedroom has two single beds with furniture etc
The Gardens
The private gardens are fenced in and the entrance has wooden gates. To the front of the house is a grassed and graveled seating area complete with outside furniture, BBQ, loungers and parasol- see photos below
To the left of Bleue there is additional large garden with views and room for all sorts of outdoor games. There is also a large garage to one side, which contains a full size table tennis table plus a proper pub bar billiards table and also a quality table football game
The road leading to the gite is quiet and meanders off into the countryside in one direction and the heart of the village in the other
The house is surrounded on three sides by its gardens so even when the sun moves you wont miss a ray. Relax in the shade of the plum tree round the back. Below is a short video of the house and a walkthrough tour. Please press on the arrow to play- don't forget to turn your speakers on
Below is another picture of the outside of the gite from a different angle. To the left you can just see where the side garden starts. Below that is a photo from the other side of the house taken in the spring across the rolling fields of yellow rapeseed
